Molten Poker Rakeback On The Cake Poker Network

When american citizens are trying to find a good online poker site to play at, they usually join the worlds two biggest poker sites. Fulltilt poker or pokerstars. Although these are both good, well run sites, they both have the same problem in common. They have the highest percentages of professional poker players playing at their tables. Why is this a problem you might ask? Well the answer is quite simple. They make the games very difficult to beat. Fulltilt poker and pokerstars are the two toughest poker sites to win any money at.

Although u.s based players are slightly limited in their choices of available poker sites, there are better options. The cake poker network is an american friendly network which runs on good software, has very soft, easy to beat opposition, and allows its affiliates to pay rake back to its players. In fact, the sites on the cake poker network allow their affiliates to pay their customers 33% rake back. That’s 6% more than fulltilt, and a full 33% more than pokerstars who don’t allow their customers to recieve rake back at all. Why is rake back important? Well whenever you play online poker, the poker sites keep 5% of every pot you play in cash games, and add a 10% charge on to every tournament fee.

These fees are called the rake, and are how poker sites make their money. If you sign up to a poker site through an affiliate, the affiliate is paid a percentage of your rake by the poker site as a reward for referring you. Some affiliates then choose to give you a percentage of your rake back as a reward for signing up through them. Basically, by signing up for poker rakeback, you’re being given money that you wouldn’t normally be getting, for free. It’d be crazy to play online poker without it. Know you know what rakeback is, and that you can get a higher percentage on the cake network than you can on fulltilt or pokerstars, and you also know that the opponents on the cake network are easier to beat as well, all that’s left to decide is what site you’d like to join on the cake network. The way that a poker network works is that although there are many different poker sites, no matter what site you actually play on, you’ll be sitting at all of the same tables and playing the same opponents as all of the other sites on the network. So with all sites games being equal, it’s important to join the networks poker site that offers its players the highest cash return.

On the cake poker network, the site that i recommend is molten poker. Molten poker rakeback is set at 33%, the same as the other rooms on the cake network, but by signing up through the correct affiliate, you can also be given an extra 5% rake back through a rake chase. Rake chases work by giving you a cash payout depending on how much you rake during the month. So if you raked $100 in a month, you’d recieve an extra $5 as well as your rake back, and if you raked $1000 you’d recieve an extra $50. This is on top of the standard $330 you’d recieve from your 33% rake back. For this reason, signing up for molten poker rakeback through the correct affiliate really is your best choice for cake poker network rakeback.

Playing Poker For The First Time

Many people are intimidated on their first visit to a public card room. Knowing what to expect and some simple rules of etiquette will help the first-time visitor relax and have a good time. Any card room. with more than a few tables will have a sign-up desk or board for the various games being played. Usually someone will be standing here to take your name if a seat is not immediately available. This person can explain what games are offered, the betting limits, special house rules and so on. This is the moment of your first decision: which game and for what stakes?

Choosing a game is fairly easy; you already know which game is most familiar to you. You may be surprised to find that your favorite home games are not spread in public card rooms. Most will offer one or more of Texas Hold’em, Seven-Card Stud, and Omaha Hold’em (usually hi/lo split, 8-or-better for low). Sometimes you will find California Lowball (5-card draw for low), Seven-Card Stud hi/lo, or Hold’em variations like Pineapple. You will rarely find High Draw (5-card draw for hi), and will never find home game pot-builders like Anaconda, Follow-the-Queen, 7-27 or Guts. Except for the joker in draw poker, card rooms. never use wild cards.

Choosing a betting limit is a bit harder. It is best to start playing at a limit so small that the money is not important to you. After all, with all the excitement of your first time playing poker there is no need to be worried about losing the nest egg to a table full of sharks. Betting limits are typically expressed as $1-$5 or $3-$6, and may be “spread-limit” or “structured-limit”. A spread-limit means one can bet or raise any amount between the two numbers (although a raise must be at least as much as a previous bet or raise). For example, in $1-$5 spread-limit, if one person bets $2 the next person is free to call the $2 or raise $2, $3, $4, or $5, but cannot raise just $1. On the next round, everything is reset and the first bettor may bet anything from $1 to $5. In structured-limit like $3-$6 (usually recognizable by a factor of two between betting limits), all betting and raising on early rounds is in units of $3, and on later rounds is in units of $6. One only has a choice of *whether* to bet or raise; the amount is fixed by the limit. One usually doesn’t have a choice between spread and structured betting at a given limit. Keep in mind that it is quite easy to win or lose 20 “big bets” (the large number in the limit) in an hour of play. Also, since your mind will be occupied with the mechanics of the game while the regular players consider strategy, you are more likely to lose than win. In other words: choose a low limit.

If the game you want is full, your name will go on a list and the person running the list will call you when a seat opens up. Depending on the card room., you may have trouble hearing your name called and they may be quick to pass you over, so be alert. Once a seat is available, the list person will vaguely direct you toward it, or toward a floor man who will show you where to sit.

Now is the time for you to take out your money and for the other players to look you over. A good choice for this “buy-in” is ten to twenty big bets, but you must buy-in for at least the posted table minimum, usually about five big bets. Most public poker games are played “table-stakes”, which means that you can’t reach into your pocket for more money during the play of a hand. It also means that you can’t be forced out of a pot because of insufficient funds. If you run out of money during a hand you are still in the pot (the dealer will say you are “all-in”), but further betting is “on the side” for an additional pot you cannot win. Between hands, you are free to buy as many chips as you want, but are not allowed to take any chips off the table unless you are leaving. This final rule gives opponents a chance to win back what they have lost to you. If you bust out, you may buy back in for at least the table minimum or leave.

Once you have told the dealer how much money you are playing, the dealer may sell you chips right away or call over a chip runner to do so. You may want to tell the dealer that you are a first-time player. This is a signal to the dealer to give a little explanation when it is your turn to act, and to the other players to extend you a bit of courtesy when you slow down the game. Everyone will figure it out in a few minutes anyway, so don’t be bashful. You may even ask to sit out a few hands just to see how it all works.

There are three ways that pots are seeded with money at the beginning of the hand. The most familiar to the home player is the “ante”, where each player tosses a small amount into the pot for the right to be dealt a hand. The second way, often used in conjunction with an ante, is the “forced bring-in”. For example, in seven-card stud, after everyone antes and is dealt the first three cards, the player with the lowest up card may be forced to bet to get things started. The third way, often used in games without up cards like Hold’em or Omaha, is a “forced blind bet”. This is similar to the bring-in, but is always made by the person immediately after the player with the “button”. The “button” is a plastic disk that moves around the table and indicates which player is acting as dealer for the hand (of course, the house dealer does the actual dealing of cards, but does not play). A second or even third blind may follow the first, usually of increasing size. Whichever seed method is used, note that this initial pot, small as it is, is the only reason to play at all.

If the game has blinds, the dealer may now ask you if you want to “post”. This means, “do you want to pay extra to see a hand now, in bad position, and then pay the blinds, or are you willing to sit and watch for a few minutes?” Answer “no, I’ll wait” and watch the game until the dealer tells you it’s time to begin, usually after the blinds pass you.

Finally, it is your turn to get cards and play. Your first impression will probably be how fast the game seems to move. If you are playing stud, several up cards may be “mucked” (folded into the discards) before you even see them; if you are playing hold’em, it may be your turn to act before you have looked at your cards. After a few hands you should settle into the rhythm and be able to keep up. If you ever get confused, just ask the dealer what is going on.

How Players Choose A Poker Network

It is a common fact that the industry of online gambling has been increasing from year to year since introducing it online.

In the beginning the technologies and soft used in the first online casinos were simple and without any variants.

Poker rooms are probably one of the most popular places for gamblers when they are online. Why is it so? mostly it is because of fun and entertainment and sure because of money that are on the tables. The majority of poker players would like to find a reliable online poker room where it is safe and interesting to play and spend time.

One of the most important features of a poker room is traffic. It can influence your possibility to play because very little table (if at all) are really playable.

The amount of traffic can also affect the fun and pleasure you considered to have – you may have to wait as all the games have already been occupied or you may even have to leave this poker room.

Another important feature of a poker room is charm. It should be attractive to poker players as the atmosphere of a poker room is a part of fun and enjoyment. As a rule, when attending online casinos, players would like to find a variety of games (Omaha, HORSE, Baccarat, Slots, Craps, etc.).

Poker sites that provide the rules of the games predented as well as poker hints on the site and they are easily understood are of significant advantage. The game is more attractive and interesting when there are bad beat jackpot and the potential winnings are big enough.

Besides, players pay much attention to the simplicity of playing which directly depends on the poker software installed on the site. The casino soft should be quick and prompt as poker players don’t want very slow games.

And finally, security of the online poker room is also a very significant factor. It will determine whether gamblers will play in the poker room or leave it. Gamblers like to visit and play on such online casinos where they have no need to worry about stealing their personal data and its further utilization for illegal purposes.

As a rule, for the moment most online poker rooms accept credit and debit cards as the main method of payment. Today there are many cases of frauds related to credit card details stealing so poker players should trust the online poker room completely. To guarantee such security, poker sites should have encrypted coded software.

If you want your poker site to be attractive for players and if you consider to have enough players to make your casino a profitable venture, pay attention to the above-mentioned tips. Your poker room should be well-designed, easy-to-use and secure.

Playing Poker At The Casino For The First Time

After you’ve been playing poker for a while, you will inevitably want to get your feet wet and head down to your local casino or card room to play some live casino poker. Along with this desire comes a certain level of anxiety or nervousness about going down to the brick and mortar for the first time.

This is perfectly normal!

But don’t worry! There really isn’t anything to fret about, as playing poker at the casino is one of the most fun forms of playing the game.

Despite my reassurances, however, I’m sure you still have some reservations about going, and are probably a bit worried about what to do when you get there, what stakes you should play, etc.

The good news is that this article should explain a lot of the questions you have about playing at the casino. After reading the following tips you will be ready for the live casino poker game, allowing you to relax and really do what you came to the casino for in the first place – to win money!

The first thing you’ll want to do upon arriving at the casino is to talk to the front desk area in the poker room and have them either assign you a table, or place you on a waiting list to be seated. You’ll have to decide what stakes you wish to play. Normally most casinos will have a low stakes limit game ($4-$8), a low stakes no limit game ($1-$2), and maybe some mid-high stakes games.

After you are assigned a table, the floor person will likely point you toward the cage to get some chips. I would recommend buying in for at least 20 big bets (so $160 for $4-$8) if you are going to play limit holdem. If you are going to play No Limit, then typically buying in for the maximum or close to it is optimal.

Now that you have your chips, sit down – the fun is about to begin! Soon enough you will win your first hand… what a rush. There’s nothing like the feeling of winning a big pot and stacking up your chips.

One thing to remember in the casino though after winning a hand is to ALWAYS TIP THE DEALER! This is common courtesy just like tipping your server at a restaurant. Usually in low limit games I will give the dealer any $0.50 chips that they give me from making change for the rake. If I don’t get any chips that size, then I will generally tip $1.00. This is completely up to you though, and I would suggest anywhere from $0.50 to $2.00 is more than acceptable, although you may wish to tip more if you win a large pot.

As you play more and more at the casino, there is bound to be a time when you have a question about the way a hand was handled, or you feel that a mistake was made. Always keep your cool in these circumstances, and point it out to the dealer first. If they aren’t handling it to you satisfaction, call a floor person over – but ALWAYS give the dealer a chance to make things right. Dealers are people too, and no one likes it when someone goes over their heads. That said, if the dealer isn’t doing anything about your problem, certainly ask for a floor manager.

These quick tips should get you ready for your first trip to a live casino poker room.

But one more thing!

Remember the most important rule of all for going to the casino – Have Fun!

Caribbean Stud Poker Intro

It seems like only yesterday when this fun game started appearing in Casinos in the United States. As you might expect from the name, Caribbean Stud Poker got its illustrious start in the Caribbean. It eventually worked its way onto cruise ships and one day the game finally docked on U.S. shores.

This exciting game is now offered in just about every casino, both online and in the real world. It’s usually considered a party game, because, like Blackjack, everyone is playing against the dealer.

Caribbean Stud Poker is played on a Blackjack-style table and seats multiple players. If you’re playing the game online, you might be the only one playing-some online casinos are offering multi-player games now.

The layout for the game has three main betting areas. First, there’s the Ante spot, which is where your initial wager goes. Next there’s the Bet spot, which is why you bet to stay in the game-more on this later. Finally, there’s the progressive jackpot wager slot. When you drop $1 into this slot, you’re entered into the progressive jackpot.

Quick Game Play

In other articles, I’ll go over the game play and strategy in more detail, but for now, let’s run through the general game play of Caribbean Stud Poker.

Before the hand is played, you must enter a wager. The lowest betting limit I’ve ever seen in the real world is $5. You might find limits lower online. So, let’s imagine that you placed $5 on the Ante spot.

Next, you need to decide if you want to be entered into the progressive jackpot. If so, put $1 into the slot. You can’t be entered into the jackpot after the hand is dealt.

After all players have made these two moves, the hand is dealt. You’ll be given five cards. This game doesn’t have many big decisions. Unlike video poker, there are no draw cards, so these are the only five cards you’ll get. At this point, you need to decide if you think your hand will beat the dealer’s hand or not.

You can choose to fold now and lose your Ante wager, or you can stay in the hand and place a Bet wager. This new wager is equal to two times the Ante wager. So, if you made a $5 wager to start the hand, your Bet wager would be $10.

After all players have decided, the deal flips over his or her hand and bets are either taken or paid. At this time, any progressive winners are paid.

Time to Learn More

This article was just a quick intro to Caribbean Stud Poker. In other articles, I’ll go further into detail about playing the game, including progressive payouts, game decisions, playing strategy and more.

For now, I hope I’ve wetted your appetite for this fun game.

Playing Poker: Moving From Online Games To Real Life Casinos

Let’s say you have played online poker for a while and now are curious about real poker rooms. When you go for the first time in a casino, things get different and you might face some emotion you will have to hide like anxiety, hesitation and even fear. Even if you get a little intimidated at first because of the huge rooms and the agitation all around you must go past that quickly and remember that is it all about poker here too.

When you first enter you will see many poker tables everywhere and people at each table, girls that serve drinks and persons that bring the chips or take them. The management employees will be dressed elegantly and they will be all over you since the moment they spot you, trying to make you as comfortable as possible. The overall atmosphere won’t be quiet as you might expect. People come in casino mostly to have fun, they are usually middle-aged or older persons that try to escape for a while the tumult of everyday life, so they will talk, laugh or even get mad once in a while.

Before heading for your casino, be aware that most casinos have a dress code so make sure you are dressed as you should. And also, if you are a young poker player, online you can play from the age of 18 in most poker room but in a casino you won’t be able to enter unless you are 21(the legal age).

Very near to the entrance in a real casino you will find a board that tells you which tables have available places and who is waiting to sit down at which table. There will be a worker next to that board that is there to ask you what you want to play and to direct you to the table as soon as a place is available.

Your chips will be brought to your table by the chip runner and you can place then on your rack as you find it suitable and convenient. You can now start playing hands at your table. In the unreliable case (for the casino) in which you win a pot straight from the first tries, then you should know that in real casino, because the dealer is a real person and not one of the players, people tips the dealer each time they win. Simply take some of your chips and hands them over to the dealer. Tip some amount that won’t influent your overall winning for the day.

There are a few things that you should try to avoid if you wish to be welcomed and to come back again. You are not allowed to curse at people. Everything must be civilized, of course. Also, do not scream at dealers or offend them, they are doing they job and they do not take sides. It is possible that you won’t be allowed to use your cell phone, so better turn it off when entering the casino. And lastly, do not slow down the game speed. Avoid having the dealer remind you several times that it is your turn, it is still a poker game not a night out with friends.

Carlos Play When Carlos Ready

Coming off a record setting postseason in 2004 where he hit 8 home runs, Beltran was rewarded by the Mets with the highest contract in franchise history—7 years for $119 million. For this tidy sum, Beltran turned in the most dismal season of his career with statistical lows in home runs (16), RBIs (78), runs scored (83), and stolen bases (17).

In fairness to Beltran, he started out playing very well in April 2005 until he injured his thigh. A gamer, Beltran tried to fight through the injury and played despite his speed game being nonexistent and much of his power sapped. And who can forget the horrifying collision Beltran had with Mike Cameron last August in San Diego? Beltran shocked most observers by coming back just five days later despite suffering from vertigo.

A quiet man by nature, Beltran was ill equipped to be a vocal clubhouse leader, but he is one who likes to lead by example. Despite playing through pain, Beltran picked up many doubters this off-season. His name, which previously topped many fantasy draft boards, was dropped down severalrankings. Local newspapers placed him on top of the “most overrated” lists. While it is obvious Beltran is not the player the nation saw in the 2004 postseason, he is a solid player who can contribute in many ways. His talents are most appreciated by watching him on a daily basis, where his defense and solid fundamentals are on display.

On opening day this year, New York fans shockingly booed Beltran after he stranded runners early in the game. Beltran, who really took one for the team playing injured last year, was noticeably stung by the fan’s venom. In fact, a few days later when he hit a game-turning home run, he refused to go out for a curtain call to acknowledge the now adoring crowd. It wasn’t until veteran Julio Franco coaxed him (more than once) that Beltran gave a lukewarm wave. Franco understood it is not a good idea to get on the bad side with of the fans. Clearly it is a war a player can’t win, particularly in New York.

This year Beltran has again injured himself, suffering a hamstring pull early in the season. While the MRI seems to indicate the injury was far from severe, Beltran took his sweet time getting back on the field. He is no longer going to risk his reputation and health for the good of the team since it went clearly unappreciated last year.

Rest assured, Beltran will most likely produce solid numbers as he regains his health, but as he probably learned from Ricky Henderson, from now on Carlos play when Carlos ready.

Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker is variation on the standard five-card poker that can be found both in brick and mortar casinos and online. Here is a brief rundown on how the game is played. Each player starts by making a wager with the option to make an additional wager on the progressive side.

In Caribbean Stud Poker the player can make a side bet of $1 that pays out for hands of a flush or better. Payoff tables vary but always feature a progressive jackpot that pays the whole jackpot for a royal flush and 10% for a straight flush. If two players had a royal flush in the same hand the player closest to the dealer’s right wins the jackpot and the second wins whatever the jackpot is dropped to. In most casinos, the second jackpot is $10,000. This is done because the order of play is from the dealer’s right to left. If two players score a straight flush, the player to the dealer’s right gets 10% of the jackpot and the other player gets 10% of what is left over.

While it may seem like a good investment to lay down one dollar in the chance of winning over ten thousand the chances are stacked very high that you will never see your dollar again.

Players are then dealt five cards each, as is the dealer. All cards are dealt face down with the exception of one of the dealer’s cards that is dealt face up.
After checking their cards players must decide to raise or fold as usual for poker games. Players that fold forfeit their cards and all wager placed on the game. To raise a player must wager twice the game ante.

The dealer turns over his remaining cards and compares them with the players. Card ranks are the same as regular poker with the additional condition of the dealer ‘qualifying’. This is where the Caribbean poker comes into it’s own.

The dealer must be showing an at least an ace and a king or higher to qualify. If the dealer does not qualify the player wins even money on his ante wager and the raise is pushed. On the other hand if the dealer qualifies he beats the player and both the ante and the raise go to the house. If however the dealer qualifies but still loses to the player, then the ante pays even money and the raise pays according to the house pay table. Pay tables can vary to be sure to check it before you play.

If the player and dealer tie then both the ante and raise are pushed. The progressive side bet is paid out based on the value of the players hand. The pay out tables for the progressive bet can also vary.

Caribbean Stud strategy is complicated and only the most skilled players can apply one. As a general rule though you should always raise if you have a pair or higher and always fold if you have less than required qualifying hand for the dealer.
